House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer tours a local business in San Antonio, stumping for Pete Gallego.
“Pete Gallego, I will tell you, is one of the most popular members on our side of the aisle,” Hoyer said. “And popular on the other side of the aisle.”
Hoyer talked about the gridlock in Washington and said Gallego always worked with others in a productive way.
“He’s coming back to the Congress of the United States and he’s going to represent San Antonio,” he said.
That is, if he can win back his former Congressional seat from Congressman Will Hurd. Gallego said Hurd has a record of partisan opposition.
“And in order to reach out across the aisle, you’ve gotta be able to vote not because it’s a Democratic idea or a Republican idea, but because it’s a good idea,” Gallego said.
“I need Pete Gallego there because he is a positive participant in making the Congress work for America and for its people and for its families,” Hoyer said.
