Hurd: Stop Playing Politics With Zika

Now is not the time to play politics.

The word from Congressman Will Hurd when it comes to efforts to fight the possible spread of the Zika Virus in the United States.

“Now is the time for collaboration and cooperation on the Zika crisis–not finger pointing and politicizing this issue” Hurd said Friday, confident Congress will eventually come up with the funding for a program.

“I think the final number will be somewhere between the Senate’s number and the House number” Hurd said.

Those two proposals are separated by hundreds of millions of dollars–which has led to an at times testy debate between Republicans and Democrats over just how much money should be devoted to combating Zika.
