Improvements to MLK March Route

Those taking part in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. March on January 18th will notice some changes along the route.

City Councilman Alan Warrick says artists have designed a new mural that will inspire marchers as they walk under the railroad tracks on MLK Drive.

They’ll also be able to tell how close they are to Pittman Sullivan Park as some new banners will mark the distance. Warrick says the banners will feature quotes from Dr. King as well.

The Councilman says it doesn’t end there.

“13 new street signs featuring a likeness of Dr. King will be posted at 13 intersection along MLK Drive and there’s more good news. MLK Drive will soon extend all the way to 410.”

San Antonio’s Martin Luther King Day March is the largest in the nation.
