Kidnapping, Chase in New Braunfels

A 50-year old man is behind bars after what’s being described as a kidnapping that led to a high-speed chase in New Braunfels.

Raul Sarabia faces a number of charges–including aggravated kidnapping, evading arrest, DWI, and assault causing bodily injury.

New Braunfels Police said it all began around 6:30 Monday Night with an altercation between a man and woman on Liberty Street. Witnesses told police the man dragged her in to an SUV then drove off.

Officers found that SUV a short time later in the area of East Mather Street and Peace Avenue. That’s where a chase began–with speeds topping 100 miles per hour on the I-35 access road.

The chase finally ended on Huisache Road in New Braunfels–where Sarabia was arrested by officers, and taken to the Comal County Jail.
