Jack's Story
A listener to another talk show was once heard defining himself as a “Riccardi Conservative” --- one way of saying that Jack Riccardi defies easy labels and takes positions independent of political parties or ideologies. So you’ll hear Jack’s unalloyed support for the war in Iraq next to unwavering support for gay marriage rights, or hear debates about toll roads segue into talking about your favorite ‘80s bands. He’s well known for pushing the envelope, asking the questions some guests don’t want to answer, and never worrying that he’s gone too far. It’s a show that’s made news and raised eyebrows as well as voices in S.A. since 1994. Television also recognized the value of his opinion, such as CNN Headline News and MSNBC who occasionally feature him.

Jack has been with KTSA since July 1999, and spent five years at WOAI-AM as a midday talk show host.

From 1991 to 1994, he was host of the “Late Afternoon Show with Jack Riccardi” on legendary news/talk giant WGY-AM in Albany, New York.

Jack Riccardi’s first talk show aired in the ‘80s on WNTN-AM in the suburb of Newton. He was a morning news anchor and disc jockey at WNTN until it switched to talk programming in 1987.

Riccardi’s radio career began in 1983, at WTBU, a rock station at his alma mater, Boston University. Jack graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in broadcast journalism in 1987.

Part-time radio jobs during college, at Soft-AC WJYY Concord, NH and AC-formatted WXLO Worcester-Boston, led to his hosting the afternoon drive show at then Hot AC WROR Boston (formerly WVBF) from 1987 to 1990.

Talk radio gives this voracious reader, lifelong student, and fan of politics and popular culture just the right place on the dial. He is also involved in blogging, writing and frequent talks before community groups of all kinds. Annually since 1997, “Talkers” m magazine has recognized Jack Riccardi as one of “America’s 100 Most Influential Talk Show Hosts.”
