LaHood Forms Police Integrity Unit

It’s official.

A couple of weeks after Bexar County District Attorney Nico LaHood shared his plans for a new Police Integrity Unit with KTSA News–that unit is now a reality.

The newly launched unit will focus on the investigation and review of officer-involved shootings, allegations of improper use of force, and other reports of police misconduct.

The new unit is made up of one prosecutor ands one investigator, and is part of the Special Crimes Division. Criminal defense attorney Jay Norton will leave private practice to head up the new unit.

The District Attorney’s Office is currently investigating more than sixty cases involving allegations made against law enforcement.
