Major Delays Saturday at San Antonio International

A number of flight delays and cancellations are reported at San Antonio International Airport Saturday.

It’s all the result of a Boeing 737 sliding off the runway after aborting a takeoff Saturday Morning.

American Airlines Flight 2214 was headed to Dallas Fort Worth International when the accident happened at about 9:45 Saturday Morning.

We’re told the jet veered off the runway at a low speed. All 38 passengers and six crew members were quickly evacuated from the jet. No one was hurt.

At the time of the incident, San Antonio International’s other commercial runway was closed fro construction work. The Airport reopened that runway Saturday Afternoon in order to ease the situation.

If you are either flying out of San Antonio International, or picking someone up, you should check with the airline on the status of any flight.
