Man shot during attempted San Antonio robbery

One man is in the hospital and two others were questioned for their roles in a west side shooting.

San Antonio police say a man had left his car unlocked in the 100 block of Hackley Street just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The man told police he had to get something he forgot in his apartment.

Police say he got back to the car to see two men inside his car.

The three got into an argument when the two suspects threatened the man.

The man, who is a concealed handgun license holder, feared for his safety and pulled out his handgun from his jacket.

The pair dropped what they had taken from the car and continued to threaten the man as they walked away, saying they knew where he lived and what he drove.

The man fired his gun twice, strike one of the men in the calf.  The other suspect ran away, but police found him a short time later.

The man who was shot was taken to University Hospital.  The man and the other suspect were taken to police headquarters for questioning.

No word on any charges.
