Man Wanted in Austin Murder Placed on FBI Most Wanted List

For 33 years the FBI has been looking for the man they believe is responsible for the murder of an Austin woman and now he’s on their 10 Most Wanted List.

Laura Stout was 22 years old when she was found sexually assaulted and strangled to death in a south Austin office building.

DNA evidence taken from her body links Robert Van Wisse to the crime. Van Wisse was an 18 year old student at the time and since Stout’s body was found, Van Wisse has been missing.

The FBI says they’ve received tips from Texas, Mexico, New York City and Washington DC and they’re hoping that by adding him to their 10 Most wanted List, they’ll be able to bring him in.

Anyone with information on Van Wisse’s whereabouts can call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
