Mayor to Review Controversial Police-Teen Altercation

By Bill O’Neil

A controversial video posted on social media will get a look from Mayor Ivy Taylor Tuesday.

Critics say the video–taken by a bystander–posted last week shows a San Antonio Police Officer striking a 14-year old girl during a disturbance.

The Mayor said rumors that police body cameras were not working during the incident are false, and she is set to personally look at that video of the altercation.

Due the girl’s age, the Mayor said the body camera video can not be released to the public–but arrangements are being made to release the video to the girl’s family.
