Memorial Day Weekend Begins with a Heat Wave

By Bill O’Neil

Just in time for the long Memorial Day Weekend–a heat wave will move in to the San Antonio area.

“Heat indicies from 100-112 today–then, 100-108 Saturday and Sunday” National Weather Service Meteorologist Yvette Benavidez told KTSA News.

That means you’ll need to be especially careful if you’re planning to spend time outdoors in the days ahead.

“Take breaks in the shade or inside. Drink lots of water and wear light-colored clothing” Bernavidez said.

As the forecast stands, we could see at least some relief later on Sunday.

“We’re also expecting some weather to come through on Sunday, so that will kind of break up the sun exposure and bring in some rain and a little bit cooler temperature” Benavidez said.
