Menger Creek Project Starts

Creating a safer neighborhood and more recreational opportunities.

That’s the purpose of the Menger Creek drainage project. City Councilman Alan Warrick says ground on the 6 million dollar project was broken Thursday and it’ll take about a year to complete.

Once it’s done, more than 40 properties will be out of the flood plain and a new park will be added complete with playground equipment, shade structures and a lighted basketball court.

The total cost of the project is about 9 million dollars.
