A growing number of Millenials are avoiding credit cards.
Mike Cetera at Bankrate says they did a survey that found credit card usage increases as people get older.
So why are younger Americans not using credit cards? Cetera says it’s because they saw what happened with their parents and other older family members during the recession and they don’t want to end up with huge debt should that happen again.
Cetera says at times, plastic is a necessary evil. They’re an important step towards building your credit score and he advises to get an unsecured card from your bank or credit union if you chose to get one.
