National Night Out Tuesday

By Pilar Arias

Law enforcement agencies and first responders across the United States are preparing for National Night Out Tuesday.

The annual event sends a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime.

“(On) October 3rd San Antonio-area residents will come together with their neighbors, first responders and city officials to signify their uniformed stance against crime,” San Antonio Police Department Officer Doug Greene said.

Many preparing to interact with people in the community still have the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history on their minds, which took place Sunday night in Las Vegas.
