NB Man Accused of Online Solicitation of a Teen

By Don Morgan

An alert New Braunfels mother found some sexually suggestive text messages on her 13 year old son’s cell phone and reported it to the Police Department. Her action has resulted in the arrest of a 28 year old man.

Police Department Spokesman David Ferguson talked to KTSA about the arrest. He says the woman reported the texts a few weeks back. Police started investigating right away and soon found they were coming from Blaine Gunter who also lives in New Braunfels.

Soon afterwards Officers searched Gunter’s East Torrey Street home and found enough evidence to arrest him. He’s been charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor.

Gunter’s bond was set at 75,000 dollars and if he’s found guilty he’s facing 20 years in prison and fines up to 10,000 dollars.

Police remind parents to monitor everything their children do while using electronic devices and Gunter first contacted the boy through a sexually explicit website or cell phone app.
