New Director At Metro Health

The City of San Antonio has a new Director at Metro Health.

Her name is Colleen Bridger. She comes to San Antonio from North Carolina where she was head of the Orange County Health Department for the past five years.

In 2014, She was named Health Director of the Year by the North Carolina Association of Local Health Directors.

“Colleen’s extensive experience will assist the City in providing sound public health services to the residents of San Antonio,” City Manager Sculley said, in a statement. “She will have a wide range of important responsibilities, including continuing to make progress improving the health and wellness of the community, combatting Zika, reducing teen pregnancies and ensuring safe preparation of the food served by restaurants throughout San Antonio.”

Sculley touted Bridger’s 25-plus years of public health experience.

Her first day in March 6, 2017.
