New Project Aims to Ease I 35 Flooding Woes

The lower level of IH-35 through San Antonio has seen it’s share of flooding over the years.

City Councilman Roberto Trevino says work is underway to alleviate that problem.

“It’s going to divert the water, clean the water, filter it and redirect it into the San Antonio River so it’s not impacting the lower level of IH-35.”

He’s talking about the area at McCullough which often floods during heavy rain storms.

Trevino says the project should be wrapped up in 16 month with minimal impact on traffic flow.
