Nirenberg Announces Mayoral Campaign

It’s official–San Antonio City Councilman Ron Nirenberg is in the race for Mayor.

Nirenberg made his announcement Saturday Morning just north of Downtown San Antonio.

“I am running for Mayor to help make San Antonio the City you deserve” Nirenberg told a crowd of supporters who gathered for the announcement.

“The City you deserve is fiscally responsible with tax dollars, holds its leaders to the highest ethical standards, and has a strong vision that ensures San Antonio rises to meet the future and be a truly great 21st century city” Nirenberg added, describing himself as a Centrist and an Independent.

Nirenberg is currently serving his second City Council term after winning the race to replace the outgoing Reed Williams in the Northside’s District Eight in 2013.

Current Mayor Ivy Taylor announced her re-election campaign a couple of weeks ago.
