Nirenberg Prepares To Vote On Climate Resolution

After he’s sworn in as Mayor one of the first orders of business for Ron Nirenberg will be to take up a resolution supporting the Paris Climate Accord.

Nirenberg talked to KTSA about the upcoming vote and says the move is important to the city for a number of reasons.

“It underscores the direction that San Antonio has taken for several years, dealing with issues of sustainability which saves tax payer dollars and also makes sure that we hand over a better environment for our children.”

Nirenberg says the resolution will make sure the city has good policies for energy as well as traffic congestion and ensuring what the city can to reduce emissions and building development.
