No Charges in Schertz Doorstep Baby Case

No charges. The word from police in Schertz–after a report of a baby found wrapped in a towel on the doorstep of a home Monday Afternoon.

Investigators said the mother of that child is actually an 18-year old woman who lives inside of that home on Roanoke. She claimed someone rang the doorbell and left the baby behind.

“The baby is ok–and, what I can say is it’s such a good thing this parent did that–instead of hurting the baby, or leaving the baby in an unsafe place” said Erica Banuelos with Child Protective Services.

The child remains in the custody of Child Protective Services, which continues to investigate what happened.
