Northside Road Project Complete

The City of San Antonio has cut the ribbon on Hardy Oak Boulevard, connecting Stone Oak Parkway to Knights Cross.

“It’s a great finished product,” Councilman Joe Krier said. “It gives connectivity for this whole area.”

The project, he said, finished ahead of schedule and under budget.

“It’s going to provide additional connectivity,” Stone Oak Property Owners Association Chairman Art Downey said. “And what we’re really hoping, keeping our fingers crossed, is that we get the extension all the way down to Sonterra Bouelvard, and that will hopefully be in the next bond issue.”

The next bond issue is in 2017.

Krier said this project helps solve a major traffic issue in the Stone Oak area.

“If I had a hundred dollars for every neighbor out here who told me this absolutely had to be done, I wouldn’t have to raise money for reelection,” he said. “It is something that there were literally that many people saying we’ve got to do something.”

The project, which includes sidewalks, traffic signals, and drainage improvements, started in January 2015.
