Obama Set to Visit Dallas

President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden are both expected to take part in an interfaith prayer service in Dallas Tuesday.

The President cut a trip to Europe short, leaving Spain a day early to return to the United States in the aftermath of the massacre of police officers in Dallas Thursday Night.

“In hindsight, going to Spain was not the best decision by the President and his staff” Rice University Political Scientist and Baker Institute Fellow Mark Jones told KTSA News.

“The President would have been better off coming back in part because the Dallas assassinations come in the week of a series of police violence incidents that together have created a strong climate of tension in the United States” Jones said, adding the issue is a very tricky one for the President to navigate.

“As the first African-American President–and someone who has made a signature issue focusing in on police violence and violations of civil liberties” Jones said.
