The search continues for suspects in a highway shooting in the northwest side who fired at a San Antonio police officer.

Investigators say the officer was on his way to work early Sunday when he witnessed a drive-by shooting that caused the victim's vehicle to veer out of control and crash into a concrete barrier on Loop 410 over Vance Jackson.

Officer  Matt Porter says the officer followed the suspects in the first vehicle, but they pulled over and fired at him.   He was not hurt.

The victims in the wrecked vehicle were rushed to University Hospital .

Twenty-three-year-old Pedro Soriano is in critical condition and 22-year-old David Morin remains in stable condition. 

The search continues for the gunmen.
