Deadly Crash Claims 3 Lives

San Antonio police say three people have been killed and three hurt after their car hit some parked construction equipment on the city's Southwest side early Monday morning.

"This morning at approximately 12:30 a family vehicle was driving westbound in the 6200 block of Medina Base Road, it appears that speed was a factor," said San Antonio Police Sergeant Javier Salazar. "The driver of the vehicle reportedly lost control, left the roadway and struck a bulldozer that was parked on the side of the road."

Names of the woman and two children who died at the scene were not immediately released. The two injured youngsters were transported to a San Antonio hospital.

"The driver was taken for treatment as well and it appears at this point that he's being questioned for at least three charges of Intoxication Manslaughter and two charges of Intoxication Assault," added Salazar.

Police also report the area was marked as a construction zone.
