Big Rig Fire Shuts Down Interstate 35

All main lanes have reopened following an early morning major accident in Northeast Bexar County which caused a complete shutdown of  Interstate-35.
Traveling south I-35, a big rig struck the exit barricade and burst into flames  shortly after midnight Friday morning.

Traffic on Southbound I-35 came to a halt outside of Schertz at FM 3009, at the Natural Bridge Caverns exit.

City of Schertz Public Affairs Director  Brad Bailey said police closed all lanes, with traffic  being diverted to the access lanes in both directions.

No injuries were reported but  delays were experienced from the Schertz area back to New Braunfels.
