Governor Rick Perry says people from across the globe look to the U.S. as a nation where everyone has a chance to build their dreams.The governor spoke at a July Fourth event in Big Sandy yesterday and said it's a time to remember and celebrate the founding fathers who faced adversity to create the greatest nation in the world.
He says the reason people around the globe know the meaning of "The American Dream" is because the country has endured based on its people, principles and purpose.
The Texas Republican says Americans have a responsibility to remain dedicated to those principles and values that have made the U.S. great in good times and bad.
