An aspiring sportswriter from San Antonio is one of at least 12 people who were killed in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado last night. Jessica Ghawi made her start covering the San Antonio Rampage and working as an intern at a local San Antonio radio station. She moved to Denver and worked for the Colorado Avalanche radio and TV broadcasts. Ghawi wrote under the name Jessica Redfield and was a writer for the sports website Busted Coverage. Ghawi was in the theater to see the opening of "Dark Knight Rises." She was at the movie with a friend, Brett Lowak, who was injured in the shooting. Her brother, Jordan Ghawi, wrote in a blog that Ghawi was shot once initially and then was shot moments later in the head. Jessica also missed tragedy by minutes after a shooting in a shopping mall in Toronto early this year. She stated in a blog how missing the shooting and being that close to tragedy and how having a certain feeling made her leave the mall. Ghawi said about the incident that "I know I truly understand how blessed for each second I am given."
