(Austin, TX) -- A record number of Texas high school students are graduating. The Texas Education Agency reports nearly 86-percent of students in the class of 2011 graduated, up nearly two-percent from the 2010 graduating class. Governor Rick Perry says the state's all-time high graduation rate is proof that Texas' approach to public education is paying dividends.
He says leaders across the state understand that high standards, accountable public schools and fiscal responsibility lead to improved educational success.
