A Center Point woman is being inducted into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame. Governor Rick Perry is congratulating Barbara Smith Conrad as the Arts and Humanities inductee, along with four other Texas women. He says recognizing the exceptional women also inspires young Texans to work hard and become future leaders.The Governor's Commission for Women established the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1984 to honor the state's most accomplished women.
Among others, past inductees include former San Antonio Mayor Lila Cockrell,former first lady Barbara Bush, astronaut Sally Ride, And cosmetics entrepreneur Mary Kay Ash.
The induction ceremony will be held at
Texas Woman's University in Denton this October.
