San Antonio first responders have unveiled a new electronic
alert system as an enhancement to its existing emergency notification system,
and they're urging everyone to sign up for it. 
Alert S.A. is a free service, and basically sends emails and text messages to users for any emergency notifications and updates.  Registered users enter a physical address when they create an account, and will be notified of any event occurring in that vicinity.
Previously, the system only used landline phone numbers but will now allow for additional ways of contacting users, utilizing cell/home phone, text and e-mail. Messages will be sent to all standard voice and text communication devices that have been self-registered at  www.AlertSA.com
