Investigators believe Hollywood Park Mayor Bill Bohlke was killed by one of his own donkeys.  

Atascosa County  Chief Deputy David Soward says Bohlke failed to return home after going to feed his cattle and his body was found Monday night at his ranch near Poteet.

"Based on all the evidence we've been able to gather at the scene, it appears he was attacked by a male donkey," said Soward.

He says the donkey weighs about 400 to 500 pounds.

"It probably knocked him down and kicked him.  He apparently tried to hide under a trailer, but the donkey pursued him and kept attacking him," Soward told 550 KTSA News.

Bohlke was elected mayor of Hollywood Park in May.
