President Clinton in San Antonio

(San Antonio, TX.-KTSA News)---President Bill Clinton delivered a speech to thousands of local voters at the Ron Durbon Athletic Center at South San High School Thursday.

President Clinton got several rounds of applause in his support for Democratic Candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives Joaquin Castro and Pete Gallego.

"You should send him because he supports The Dream Act. You should send him because he supported President Obama when he said young people  who were brought here as children, who are undocumented , who want go to college or serve in the military, should be able to stay here and do so," said Clinton.

President Clinton compared Democratic ideas on issues to Republican ones, focusing on issues like the national debt, healthcare, education, and affordable student loans for people who want to go to college.

"Young people are honorable. When they get a degree and they know it empowers them they pay their loans back if they can. So President Obama said let's do this nationwide, so they did and that is the law," said President Clinton.

Several state and local democrats attended the event, with a common message of getting the vote out and pushing Texas towards becoming a majority blue state.
