The Texas Longhorns will face the Oregon State Beavers in San Antonio later this month for the 2012 Valero Alamo Bowl.No. 13 Oregon State (9-3, 6-3 PAC-12) is coming off their last expected victory over Nicholls State in which they handidly won 77-3, while the No.23 Longhorns (8-4, 5-4 Big 12) are trailing in after big upsets against TCU and Kansas State this season.
However, sports experts are predicting the game will be a strong offensive showoff on both sides, and most are favoring the 2005 BCS Champions over the Beavers, who have yet to show their worth in a top-tier bowl game.
Game history favors the Longhorns as well, as they have handidly beaten the Beavers both times they have played them in the past: 35-0 in 1985, and 61-16 in 1987.
The two teams will face each other at the Alamodome on Saturday, December 29th. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
