A teenage driver faces a serious charge after a northwestside accident leaves a six year old boy dead.
Investigators tell 550 KTSA News the Ford Ranger driven by 17 year old Luis Landin left the road in the 9300 block of Autumn Sunrise late Thursday Afternoon--hitting the boy as he was riding his bike on the sidewalk. We're told the boy was thrown from his bike--and in to a fence--before landing on the grass nearby.
"He (the victim) was airlifted to University Hospital--but unfortunately he died as a result of his injuries" said SAPD's Officer Matthew Porter. Landin was quickly arrested by officers who suspected he was driving under the influence.
"Right now our suspect is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter" Porter said.
