A Judson Middle School student whose bicycle was hit by a Judson High School teacher is expected to survive.
The 7th grader was riding down FM 78 near Judson High School around 8:00 Friday morning, when he was struck by the teacher, who was also on her way to school.
"We don't know for sure if he was trying to cross the road or not, but there was a car that was just adjacent to him and hit the student," said Steve Linscomb with Judson Independent School District.
The boy was air lifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center following the accident.
"He had some type of head injury. We don't think that it is serious at this point, and we understand that he is going to be okay," said Linscomb.
The teacher was extremely distraught by the accident, and Liscomb said she was escorted home by a number of friends.
"The Converse Police Department is investigating it, but it is a pure accident," said Linscomb. "It looks like she just did not see the student on his bicycle at the time of the accident."
