By Bill O'NeilYou've probably been feeling the pinch on your wallet every time you fill up--as gas prices continue to climb in San Antonio--and around the country.
This kind of quick run up is nothing we haven't seen before--but the timing is unusual according to analysts.
"What we're used to is the rally in prices tends to begin in late March or early April--lasting for say a month and a half" said Patrick DeHaan with Gas Buddy.com. He tells 550 KTSA News the price at the pump in San Antonio now sits at about $3.50--about 17-cents per gallon higher than it was at this time last year.
"Even looking at prices compafred to a month ago, we're seeing significant jumps--a lot of it on the heels of rising oil prices and refinery maintenance which has begun" DeHaan said. While analysts had been hopeful this year would break the trend of setting a new average yearly high, DeHaan said that notion may already be fading.

"We're certainly getting off to a rocky start in regards to that. It's certainly possible that given the situation now--as things continue to develop--we could see prices hit records in 2013 if this continues" DeHaan said.
