Courts Martial, Hearing at Lackland

By Elizabeth Ruiz

A military training instructor accused of sending a lewd video of himself via cellphone to a trainee is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
Joint Base San Antonio spokesman Brent Boller told 550 KTSA News that in addition to the charge of committing an indecent act, Tech Sgt. Samuel Wicks is accused of having unprofessional relationships with three technical training students.
While the court martial gets underway, a former training instructor will be having an evidentiary hearing in another courtroom.

Tech Sgt. Julio Morales currently is stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
"He was a military training instructor assigned to the 324th Training Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland during the time of the alleged offenses," said Boller.
Those alleged offenses include having an unprofesional relationship with a basic military trainee and committing adultery.
Thirty-two training instructors have been or currently are under investigation for sexual misconduct . Eight have been convicted of having sex or trying to have sex with trainees.
Last week, Staff Sgt. Craig Leblanc was sentenced to 30 months confinement for sexual misconduct, but he was acquitted of the more serious charge of sexually assaulting the woman who had just graduated from basic training.
