Texas A&M Issues Code Maroon

by Elizabeth Ruiz

A bomb threat has prompted Texas A&M University officials to issue a "code maroon" safety advisory and close Kyle Field and nearby buildings .

A statement on the campus website says the threat was written on a wall of a nonacademic campus facility and officials were told about it shortly before 11 a.m Wednesday.  The initial "code maroon" was issued at 12:25 pm.

University officials say the stadium and adjacent buildings were evacuated and will remain closed the rest of the day, but all activities and events at facilities that haven't been evacuated will go on as scheduled.
