Record Setting Year for Rodeo

By Bill O'Neil

The numbers are in on what was another record-smashing year at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

"We were incredibly blessed with womderful weather for the duration of our two and a half weeks" the Rodeo's Jenny Nagelmueller told 550 KTSA News--with the final attendance numbers zooming past last year's record-setter.

"We were at one-point-five million last year...and looking to surpass that--and we definitely did. We're at one-point-six-seven million for total attendance this year" Nagelmueller said, adding that once again--the concerts were a big hit.

"17 out of 21 sell out performances. We also surpassed last year's AT&T Center single night record" Nagelmueller said. That was set with Toby Keith's February 9th performance. And the records don;t stop there.

"We also are way above on our auction numbers. We're still calculating all of the add ins, but we're over one million dollars over what we raised last year."
