SAFD Identifies Three Eastside Arson Suspects

The San Antonio Fire Department's Arson Bureau has identified three suspects in connection with a number of arsons on the City's Eastside.

The Department is not releasing the names or ages of the suspects, due to the fact that they are all minors.

"One of the suspects is accused of setting a fire to a school bus belonging to an Eastside Church back on January 28th, and the two other suspects are accused with setting fire to a vacant house in the 200 block of Cooper Street and another vacant house in the 1800 block of Virginia on the night of January 31st," said Christian Bove, Public Information Officer with the Fire Department.

SAFD has asked Child Protective Services to get involved with the possible cases.

"The Bureau will be working with the Bexar County District Attorney's office to pursue charges against all three of these individuals," said Bove.

Bove said investigators do not believe these three suspects are connected to any of the other recent arsons on the Eastside, and so each of those cases remains under investigation.
