Mayor Julian Castro is winding up for the first pitch at the first baseball game ever played at the Alamodome.
Marketing manager Andrea DeLaune says the first exhibition game between the Texas Rangers and the San Diego Padres will be at 7:05 pm Friday.
"The diamond is set up. It looks like it's always been a baseball field and I think people are going to be surprised at how well this configuration lays out for baseball," said DeLaune.
The second exhibition game between the Rangers and the Padres will be at 1:05 Saturday and the doors will open 2 1/2 hours before gametime.
"There will be games and activities on the North Plaza. They're going to have different stages, a rock band, a rock-climbing wall and different activities for the kids," said DeLaune.
She told 550 KTSA News some parking spaces are available at the Alamodome and you can buy parking passes at Ticketmaster.com. Via will be offering Park and Ride service from Crossroads mall starting three hours before each game. The cost is $2.50 each way.
