A former military training instructor has been sentenced to 30 days confinement and a reduction in rank.
Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Croskey pleaded guilty Friday to having an unprofessional relationship with a technical training student, adultery and obstructing justice.
"The judge sentenced Croskey to 30 days confinement, which will start immediately, and a reduction to the grade of E4 Senior Airman," said Joint Base San Antonio spokesman Brent Boller.
Under a special court martial, Croskey could have gotten a maximum punishment of 12 months confinement, a bad conduct discharge and forfeiture of two-thirds pay per month for a year.
"Croskey gave a tearful, unsworn statement in which he spoke of his love for the Air Force and pleaded with the judge not to give him a bad conduct discharge, which he said would mark him for life," said Boller.
It was the 12th court martial linked to a sex scandal at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland.
