Feel that burning in your eyes? Ozone season is once again underway in San Antonio.
"It's just been a struggle--particularly because of the population growth--and the economic growth in the region--which we love to see, but it can be problematic in that respect" said Annette Prosterman with the Alamo Area Council of Governments. She told 550 KTSA News we're definitely in some new territory this season.
"Until last summer, San Antonio could claim to be the largest city in the United States that was still in compliance with all air quality standards--including ozone" Prosterman said, adding "We've really done a good job of holding it at bay until this point."
Prosterman said the key is in leaving the car home when you can--and getting the most out of each trip that you do take. The Alamo Area Council of Government's Fresh Air Fridays resume this month--at 11:30 AM, on Main Plaza Downtown.
