The only woman to face a court martial in connection with the Air Force sex scandal has pleaded guilty to having inappropriate relationships with trainees.
Staff Sgt. Emily Allen with the 59th Dental Training Squadron was a military training instructor when the incidents occured.
Her attorneys attempted to get the case dismissed Wednesday.
"The defense made a motion to dismiss the case based on unlawful command influence, citing what they called a flawed method by which the referral of charges was conducted," said Joint Base San Antonio spokesman Brent Boller.
The military judge rejected the motion and Allen entered her plea.
"Staff. Sgt. Allen pleaded guilty to the charge of violating a lawful general regulation, which prohibits unprofessional relationships," said Boller.
The sentencing phase was scheduled to resume Thursday morning at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.
"The maximum penalty is 12 months confinement, bad conduct discharge, forfeiture of 2/3 salary per month for 12 months and reduction to the lowest enlisted rank," Boller told 550 KTSA News.
