The Bexar County Sheriff's office has arrested two men for Cattle Rustling.
"Cameron Hoagland and also Malcolm Brietzky were arrested for stealing cattle, and they have been charged with theft of livestock which is a felony offense," said Paul Berry, Public Information Officer with the Sheriff's office.
The two men allegedly stole the cattle and auctioned them off for $4 thousand at an auction barn in Seguin.
"The original owner of the cattle had contacted the auction asking them if anybody had turned over her cows, and he suspected that some of these head of cattle were in fact hers," said Berry. "And when she went to the auction barn there were signs that the cattle were clearly hers, and that's when the auctioneer contacted the sheriff's office and that's when we conducted our investigation."
The Sheriff's office said Friday afternoon that the investigation was still open, and that they were anticipating more arrests in connection to the case.
"Mr. Hoagland is cooperating with our detectives right now," said Berry. "The good news is there were three head of cattle that were returned to the owner, but the three remaining calves were sold to other buyers."
