Signs of stability at San Antonio's gas pumps--even as prices in the middle of the country--and portions of Texas--rocket upward ahead of the long Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.
Gregg Laskoski with Gasbuddy.com told 550 KTSA News you can connect the big increases seen in many spots to refinery problems in the Great Lakes region. Those issues are leaving their mark as far south as Kansas, Oklahoma, and portions of North and West Texas.
"Most of the increases that we've seen related to refinery issues are just that... they are related to supply--not demand" Lakoski said.
While pirces have quickly climbed in and around Amarillo, Laskoski said the numbers are quite a bit different in our area.
"The only increase we've seen is from about a month ago--with prices rising by about six-cents in San Antonio. This is stability compared to what we're seeing everywhere else" Laskoski said.
Does that mean we might be in line for a big run up ahead of the holiday weekend? Lasksoksi doesn;t seem to think so.
"We think you may see a nominal increase at best coming throught he Memorial Day Weekend" Laskoski said.
