He's ready for the challenge--so said the new "lone finalist" to serve as the premanent Superintendant of the San Antonio Independent School District.
"In discussing this with the family I think they understand we need to do good things in SAISD. If I can contribute in that effort--then I'm more than happy to do so" said Sylvester Perez--the man who has been serving as the District's "Interim" Superintendant for more than a year.
"I'm very honred to be selected as the finalist... I think as we (SAISD) go, the urban core is going to go as well" Perez added.
He said the key to moving the district forward is in improving student literacy.
