Six Flags Fiesta Texas is celebrating the opening of the new hybrid Iron Rattler this Saturday, May 25th.
The first 100 riders to experience the new coaster will be a group made up of Ronald McDonald charity auction winners, Ronald McDonald house guests, and outstanding McDonald's employees.
A check for $200,000 will be presented to Ronald McDonald House in a Saturday morning ceremony with fireworks and colorful confetti, to mark the amount Six Flags Fiesta Texas has donated over the past decade to local Ronald McDonald Houses that host the families of children undergoing medical procedures in San Antonio.
The new hybrid Rattler stands at 180 feet, and includes a number of new features that differ from the old, wooden coaster many of us grew up with. The unique hybrid coaster is the first of its kind to flip riders completely upside down through its looping Zero-G Barrel Roll, in addition to a 171-foot drop, four over-banked turns and a free fall into the quarry tunnel wall.
