Texans Weigh in on Same Sex Marriage Decisions

By Bill O'Neil

We're hearing a mixed review from Texans on the U.S. Supreme Court's decisions on same sex marriage.

Texas Values Presdient Jonathan Saenz told 550 KTSA News he's pleased the Justices have decided to leave it up to the states to individually define what marriage is--but expects the debate will only continue to ramp up from here.

"I think you're going to see more attacks on states that have defined marriage as one man and one woman--because you're still goping to have folks out there that are not happy that any place in our country people still define marriage as it always has been" Saenz said.

On the other side though--the decisions are very welcome.

In a statement, Equality Texas pointed to a recent survey conducted by it's foundatiuon--which found a nearly even split among Texans on the issue.
