UTSA Player Out on Bond

A UTSA football player is out on bond and off the field after being arrested for his part in a weekend bar brawl in Austin.

Twenty-two-year-old Will Ritter is accused of punching two women and a man early Sunday at Blind Pig Pub on 6th Street.

Officer Veneza Bremner told 550 KTSA News that officers were called for a disturbance at the bar early Sunday.

"The suspect punched a female and when another girl tried to break up the fight, he punched her as well," said Bremner.

When a man intervened, Ritter reportedly punched him and knocked him out on the sidewalk.

Bremner says Ritter was arrested and charged with assault with injury and public intoxication.

"We believe he was a danger to himself and others, as he had already punched 3 people and probably would have continued to fight if he had not been arrested," said Bremner.

UTSA head football coach Larry Coker announced Monday that the senior defensive end has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities.

"We are are of the incident involving Will Ritter and he is suspended indefinitely from all team activities while we review the matter," Coker said.
